As always – the fabulous Stella McCartney has made our list of must haves.  The Stella McCartney sale is AMAZING. We love this two piece available here.
Another R&R fave – Mini Rodini have outdone themselves with this fabulous puffa.  Of all of 2016’s trends, the resurgence of the puffa jacket was the most unexpected – and, it turns out, the most popular.  Powering through into 2017 this 90’s classic is a street style favourite here to stay.  Keep your little one warm and cool with this jacket for as good as half price at £64.00.

Since we discovered Bob & Blossom we have been Obsessed.  With a capital O.  These letters are a super cute way to decorate a room – they have definitely made the R&R’s office a lot brighter.  With certain letters available for a bargain price we recommend heading over to the site and snapping some up ASAP.

Party wear

Party Wear for Stylish Kids

Party wear
Party Wear for Stylish Kids
November 2016 | Words by Anna Koukis

Here at Ray & Robin we love an excuse for a party, so with the festive season looming we have been on the hunt for beautiful party wear for some time now.  Ensure your little ones are the best dressed party guests this season with our selection of the best party wear below!

What is cuter than seeing a child rocking a trend?  A child rocking a trend in an outfit you would actually wear yourself!  I mean, how cool is this two piece suit from Shan & Toad?  Matchy-matchy is a look we have been down with for a while now and what’s not to love with this look?  Velvet and hot pink! Yes please.  At Ray & Robin we are all for little girls having an alternative to dresses for the party season.
Boyswear can tend to be a bit more tame than girls party wear so what a pleasant surprise to see these fabulous shirts in Wolf & Rita’s The Lost Notebook Collection.  We LOVE the Roberto Houses shirt, funky and fun and definitely not playing it safe, this is one for the cool boys.
Wolf & Rita’s garments are lovingly made in Portugal and each collection tells a beautiful story.  The Lost Notebook was discovered at the beginning of the twentieth century in a flea market in Paris.  The popular sketches were drawn by an unknown artist.  They were the main inspiration for the AW16/17 collection.
Nothing says PARTY more than bright colours and wild prints.  Look no further than No Added Sugar’s new collection for an outfit that will have your child feeling like the belle of the ball.  To the left you can see Ray & Robin’s Deeanna modelling the wonderful Florence Look which you can shop here.  If the dress is a little over budget (£89.00) but you have fallen in love with the print, no fear!  You can buy the fabulous head band for a smidgen of the price here.

Wild and Gorgeous

Another show stopping matching outfit.  Not for the faint hearted, but then how many 8 year old boys are?  Wild and Gorgeous have nailed the casual yet oh so cool party wear for boys with their new range.  If you do think double tartan is a bit too OTT of course you can buy the trousers and the shirt separately here and here.
Dance Shoes
Are these ballerina flats even real?  They are what every girly girls dreams are made of!  The only place to shop for dance shoes is Paoul’s.  Beautifully made, and as seen in Vogue Bambini, a pair of these glittery pumps would transform any outfit into party wear.
Woodstock London
One of the beauties of being young is the complete freedom to wear whatever you want, whenever you want.  With no reason.  Sadly, long gone are the days where I could stroll into M&S wearing a glittery crown and a Batman onesie.  Our children still have that pleasure so lets turn a blind eye when they come downstairs wearing everything yellow that they, and you own.  Or when they decide that yes, popping to Starbucks is the perfect opportunity to debut their sequinned dressing gown.  Yawn to the jeans and t-shirt crew.  Woodstock fully embraces and celebrates children’s creativity.  Check them out for animal ears, moons and stars, pom poms and crowns.
Paul Smith Junior
The whole suave vibe is just too cute when it comes to boys party wear.  Paul Smith junior have nailed the boys smart casual look.  Staying true to their typically British style, the Paul Smith Junior collection is similar to the adult range with mini me signature stripes, playful prints and tailored suits, just like dad’s.  This navy ‘Marron’ bow tie features a dark red ‘spot’ jacquard and is made from a smooth twill cloth with an adjustable buckle and easy fastening clasp.
Faux fur
Well, well well.  What do we have here?  Only the best coat in all the lands.  Although it is tempting to stay true to the good old trusty Winter coats as December approaches so does the party season.  This faux fur beauty will not let those special party outfits down.  Buy here!
Kids shoes
We are all ears for the adventures little party girls will have in these loafers with a twist.  Minna says of her shoes ‘Life is too short to take style too seriously.’ Which we think is a great motto, especially when it comes to party wear.  With fabulously crazy designs for little girls and women matching with your daughter has never been a better look.  If you are a bit stuck for present buying in the festive period we would definitely recommend a pair of Minna’s shoes.  Worn by stars such as Taylor Swift, Cara Delevigne and Pixie Lott any young girl would be super smug to own a pair.  Thank us later. 🙂

Kids’ Dig’s – Nursery

Kid’s Dig’s: Nursery Designs to Blow Their Little Minds
September 2016 | Words by Anna Koukis
We’ve rounded up the very best selection of nursery furniture here at Ray & Robin.  Contemporary, traditional and vintage, we’ve got all bases covered.  Style and substance are very important to us, so you can read on and rest assured that all items are impeccably well made as well as gorgeous. Happy shopping!
High Chair
Made in France, Combelle’s high chairs have been welcome additions to nurseries for almost 100 years.  Combelle is a family business with the third generation of Combelle’s currently ensuring that the same craftsmanship that they have always been known for is still very much a huge part of the brands essence.  Each item is made with 100% solid beech wood from trees that are over eighty years old!  We love this bright pink high chair.  A perfect blend of traditional design and modernity.  Guaranteed to add a touch of pizzazz to any nursery.  Available in other colours for those who fancy a softer approach, or personalised for a special touch.
In 1953 Christian Flensted made his first mobile to celebrate the christening of his daughter – He cut out three storks, mounted them in two straws, and the first Flensted Mobile was made.  After sixty years the Flensted mobiles are still designed and made in Funen, Denmark – the island of Hans Christian Anderson.  Beautifully created with wonderful traditional designs for kids bound to add a special touch to any nursery.  We love the five flying swallows mobile ourselves but there are many great, quirky designs to be bought, hot air balloons, sailing boats and some super cute happy frogs for example.
nursing chair
The hunt for a decent, comfortable nursing chair that isn’t going to break the bank is much harder than we thought! The Nursery Works Empire Rocker is incredibly comfortable as well as supremely stylish.  Modern and finely upholstered with solid ash hardwood legs this smooth rocking chair is a perfect addition to any nursery.

Olli Ella was founded on the idea that just because something is made for a nursery, it needn’t look out of place elsewhere.  This is a wonderfully useful concept for parents as kitting out a nursery is expensive! They stock gorgeous pieces that work just as well in an adults space as they do in a kids space.  Kooky, hand picked pieces that give a wink to the founders exotic travels abroad, Olli Ella’s designs are inspiring and beautifully made.  This hanging moses basket couldn’t be more up our street – hand woven by female artisans in South America it brings as a bohemian yet Scandi vibe.

A delightful and practical addition to any nursery should always be given a warm welcome.  There are too many brands offering nursery staples such as changing mats and floor play mats that are basic.  The Bella Bunny Mat is made of soft cosy materials, with a padded base and a raised surrounding the mat is an ideal safe place to pop baby to help them unwind and relax.
Dragons furniture is mainly wooden, hand painted with images from their thirty year old portfolio of artwork.  They hold exclusive agencies for hand painting Beatrix Potter, Bell and Boo, Flower Fairies, Paddington Bear and Brambly Bear.  Hugely imaginative and very well made these British designs are traditional and extremely luxurious.  A treat for any nursery.  As well as selling furniture Dragons are happy to help design a nursery top to bottom.  Their artists, carpenters and designers work seamlessly to transform a favourite story, passing idea or vibrant colour into a beautiful and functional interior.
baby changing station
We have fallen in LOVE with every piece of furniture at RHBaby & Child.  This vintage bench is Swedish, and inspired a whole collection for the brand.  Don’t be fooled by those delicate spindled legs, this ornate baby changer can hold any baby with ease.  The beauty of this elegant changing table is that once your little one has moved onto potty training it can leave the nursery and be used as a very special shelving unit anywhere in the house.  We think it would look fabulous in a bathroom laden with big fluffy towels.
